Aerospace Engineering (BE/B.TECH)

Aerospace Engineering is a branch of Engineering that provides skills and knowledge to design, manufacture and maintain spacecraft, aircraft, missiles and weapons systems. A large part of Aerospace Engineering consists of Mechanical Engineering Covering a wide range of topics, including computer application, structures, mathematics, physics, drafting, electricity, robotics, aeronautics etc. It also covers two aspects of engineering, namely Aeronautical Engineering and Astronautical Engineering.

Aerospace Engineering is considered to be among the toughest branches of engineering that have carved its niche among students. However, once completed this course gives 'wings' to your career taking it to new heights. Here’s an overview of Aerospace Engineering for aspirants who wish to make a career in this field.

What does an aerospace engineer do?

Aerospace engineers develop leading-edge technologies and integrate them into aerospace vehicle systems used for transportation, communications, exploration, and defence applications. This involves the design and manufacturing of aircraft, spacecraft, propulsion systems, satellites, and missiles, as well as the design and testing of aircraft and aerospace products, components, and subassemblies. Successful aerospace engineers possess in-depth skills in, and an understanding of, aerodynamics, materials and structures, propulsion, vehicle dynamics and control, and software.
